The Walking Dead: Season 9, Episode 6 Review - Who Are You Now?
7 / 10. A shake up and a new enemy approaches, an improvement on recent episodes *SPOILERS*
In AMC’s zombie horror series The Walking Dead, season 9, episode 6, Michonne (Danai Gurira) narrates scenes of the survivors continuing to struggle, adapt and survive, in a time jump to six years after Rick's apparent death. Judith convinces Michonne to help a new group which leads to conflicts over their fate and whether they can be trusted.
Carol (Melissa McBride) and Henry (Matthew Lintz) travel to the Hilltop, en route they’re attacked by remaining Saviours who steal supplies, among them Carol’s ring - which they immediately regret, you don’t mess with Carol…
Daryl has taken to living on his own in the wilderness, which i’m sure he prefers, and Rosita and Eugene encounter a horde and once hidden they hear faint whispers of "Where are they?"
Episode 6 gives us a time jumping shake up and a new enemy approaches. The characters are split between Hilltop, Alexandria, the Kingdom and elsewhere, so Rick’s hope of a united people is unfulfilled, and the bridge was never completed.
Judith (Cailey Fleming) has now taken on Carl’s role as annoying child, and I do hope they’re not making Negan into a good guy now. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is always excellent, but that would be ludicrous after the horrific things he did.
Carol was a legend as always, and glad to see her happy with Ezekiel (I think she rocked the pixie crop better though). Her journey throughout the seasons has been my favourite to watch.
The talking zombies were very creepy. I think that The Whisperers will be an interesting new enemy and probably a greater threat than the Saviours. It would have been good to keep that under wraps in the media to add to the mystery for a while, but that is nigh on impossible these days.
